It doesn't seem realistic that I should do this and override the existing installations so I have not tried this on any of the 3 browsers. My issue is that even with these new Adobe installations, all three browsers will not recognize the existance of Flash and Shockwave on my desktop and each browser asks me to dowload them to their individual browsers. I am using 3 browsers primarily because IE8 no longer displayes content on certain websites correctly, so I go to Firefox or Google Chrome on many occasions.(In actuality, both of these browsers load pages much slower than IE8 even though they still are supporting XP?) This action deleted both Shockwave Flash and Shockwave for Director. But when i open a site which needs the plugin to run it just crashes firefox. When I try to do jigsaws, it doesnt always pick up the 'tiles' and they are hard to move around.
Actual Results: Shockwave never runs Mozilla never detects it is installed. I recently had my pc re-installed, and been having issues with debugging, shockwave flash and script errors.
Test page is identical to step one Shockwave is not working and it says 'click here to get plugin' as if it were not installed. Return to test page it prompts to reboot 4.
Ive copied np32dsw.dll to FirefoxPortableDataplugins and it actually appears in the plugins windows (Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 11.0). Click to install Shockwave plugin download and install 3. In Control Panel, I noticed both Adobe Flash Player and Shockwave Flash were installed. Im having trouble to install the Shockwave plugin. The name of the Flash ActiveX in IE is Shockwave Flash Object, but it has nothing to do with the Shockwave Player, which you didnt need to install. It was happening in both Firefox and Explorer. Now I find I have certain websites that require it for viewing content so I have recently installed Adobe Flash Player 16 along with Adobe Shockwave Player 12.1 which I believe is needed as a plug-in? (Both of these are the latest versions!) I was having problems with 'Shockwave player is not responding' -hanging plugin. I have previously had Adobe Flash Player installed in past years and had not used it very often and uninstalled it. To install Shockwave Player, use a 32-bit Web browser on your 64-bit Windows operating system.
Windows XP Pro/IE8/Firefox/Google Chrome browsers If you attempt to download the Shockwave Player in a 64-bit browser on Windows operating system that does not support Shockwave Player, you see a message from Adobe and a link back to this page.
